Galanthus ” Galatea “

( Hybr Cultivar  ) Large shapely flowers from long slender kinked pedicel giving much movement .Leaves arching ,grey-green  glaucesent, lightly explicative . outer segments pear-shaped . inner segments inverted green `V`at apex.often two scapes on established plants .bulks op wel . similar to G. Magnet  but earlier .modern stock from Ruth Birhall`s garden ,Cloucsestershire .1970`s 25 cm

According to Apollodorus of Athens. The Roman poet Ovid, in his Metamorphoses, Book X, relates that Pygmalion, a sculptor, makes an ivory statue representing his ideal of womanhood and then falls in love with his own creation, which he names Galatea;
